oil to be discarded and risk of spills and
ground contamination
WARNING: What you are about to learn will contradict everything you have ever been told about
the need to change oil at designated hour intervals or mileage. Please keep in mind that these oil
change guidelines have been established over the years by the engine manufacturers and services
companies. Engine manufacturers are in business to make and sell new engines and parts, older
engines must wear out. Service companies are in business to repair damaged engines and to
perform regular maintenance, mainly expensive and mostly unnecessary oil changes. If your
service company has not recommended by-pass oil filtration to you, ask them why.
THIS IS WHAT MARINE AND EQUIPMENT SERVICE COMPANIES DO NOT WANT YOU TO KNOW.
SAE International
"Our analysis of the data revealed that rod bearing wear was reduced 89% with the bypass filtration unit."
"Main bearing wear was reduced 93% with the bypass filtration unit."
"Ring wear was reduced 83% with the bypass filtration unit."
"Oil analysis revealed that a 98% reduction in silicon levels of samples taken from the bypass filtration
test....similarly the wear metal levels were 84% lower for the bypass filtration test."
Engine wear was directly related to the degree of filtration of the bypass and fuel flow filters and the levels
of abrasives left in the oil. The use of the combination full flow and bypass filtration systems can reduce
the wear rate to less than 1/2 that resulting from only using a full flow filter system. Due to extended
engine life with the use of bypass filters, the extra cost of installing and maintaining the bypass filtration
system is recovered many times over, providing the lowest total cost for the engine user.
Mobil Oil Technical Bulletin #863:
"Oil does not wear out, breakdown, or otherwise deteriorate
to such extent that it needs to be changed. It becomes
contaminated with water, acids, carbon particles, and
sludge. The engine's oil filter can only remove solid particles
above a certain size. It cannot remove water, acids, carbon
particles or sludge all of which pass through the full flow
engine filter just as readily as the oil."
thus THE NEED FOR BYPASS FILTRATION!
DOES THE INSTALLATION OF ONBOARD OIL FILTRATION SYSTEM VOID AN ENGINE WARRANTY? The answer is "NO" due to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, this is not a concern.

How Bypass Filtration Works
The oil bypass filter diverts a small percentage of the normal oil flow
then directs it through a bypass loop. As it passes through the bypass
filter, and before it returns to the normal flow, abrasive particles such as
carbon, soot, wear metals and silicon (dirt) down to one micron size are
removed, along with all water. The cleaned oil is then returned to
normal flow effectively in its original new condition. By removing these
impurities as they occur, the bypass filter prevents the buildup of acid
particulates and maintains the oil within its operating specification.
Thus, your engine oil lasts up to 5 times longer than it used to under
certain conditions and perhaps longer as the oil sample and lab
analysis dictates. By removing the impurities which directly and
indirectly cause damage, the engine life is dramatically extended.

WHY AREN'T THESE BYPASS SYSTEMS ON EVERY ENGINE AND PIECE OF EQUIPMENT?
The answer is: " Because the engines will not wear out as fast and the money generated on
engine replacement, costly repair over-hauls, and service oil change revenues will be drastically
reduced."
BYPASS OIL FILTRATION FOR HYDRAULICS
Oil Bypass Filtration works equally as well in hydraulic
systems . Because of the positive displacement
pumps used there is always going to be wear.
Hydraulic systems slow down and failures occur as
contaminants lodge in places you don't want them,
such as
valve seats, sensor probes, and cylinder seals.
FUEL FILTRATION
Used in conjunction with current fuel filters in full flow.
By removing water from fuel and particulates to
1-micron the fuel atomizes and burns easier and more
completely meaning more horsepower. By further
removing moisture from the fuel (which causes many
top end problems) bypass filtration can help to
eliminate costly repairs with regards to parts and
unscheduled downtime.
Protect Your Investment
Standard full flow filtration, at best, will filter oils down to approximately 35 microns in size in most
diesel engines. Accelerated wear and damage occurs somewhere around 3 to 6 micron. Using
ByPass Oil Filtrarion Systems you will filter the fluid down to 1 micron in size, reducing the chance of
wear and ultimately reducing the number of engine failures and rebuilds that would have been
needed to be performed during the life of the unit.
BYPASS OIL FILTRATION
Let us show you how fewer oil changes and reducing wear in your engines and equipment will produce profits currently overlooked. We are committed to helping you use less oil. Less consumable oil means a smaller carbon footprint and a cleaner environment.

NEWS and ARTICLES
National Fisherman: Micheal Crowley explores ByPass Oil Filtration in this issue. The reason
contamination in the oil shows up so soon can be traced to the engine’s in-line or full-flow oil filter. In-
line oil filters generally remove particles in the 25- to 40-micron range. The filter won’t capture smaller
particles because it’s not dense enough. If it were, there would be a dangerous drop in oil pressure.
Yet, the particles that cause all of the wear in an engine are between 3 and 15 microns in size. The
engine’s full-flow filter won’t get those out, turning the oil into liquid sandpaper. Read On...
